To mark the release of Tom’s collection of short stories “Uncommon Type” and with the accepted challenge of making the event about the book and not his film career, we persuaded the Southbank Centre to extend the already programmed London Literary Festival 2017 and make our event the closing night.

The show sold out in less than two hours and the audience was treated to not only a discussion on the book, but several live readings from Tom’s favourite stories and more than a few film anecdotes in passing. The book topped the Sunday Times Bestseller list shortly afterwards.

The event is available to view here on YouTube.
