Framing Perceptions: Sightsavers, New York & London
Upstart Events created this exhibition at a Private View at Coin Street on the Southbank and public Exhibitions at both The Guardian newspaper HQ and the Oxo Gallery, in London.
Sightsavers led the fight for Disability Rights to be included in the Global Goals all the way to The United Nations General Assembly in September 2015 and to mark their inclusion, I recreated the exhibition for an immersive and fully accessible showcase in New York, hosted by the President of Ireland, having already replicated the display in the United Nations Building itself.
Working with award-winning Guardian photographer, Graeme Robertson, we created this moving and inspiring exhibition to visually showcase the ground-breaking campaign for Disability Rights. Graeme visited social inclusion projects in Uganda and India with International Development Organisation, Sightsavers, and the portraits he captured highlight the impact of exclusion and show how empowerment really can make a world of difference.
The full exhibition content from Graeme Robertson can still be seen here.
